How to Apply for the Civil Service Exam in the Philippines [Step-by-Step Guide]

The Civil Service Examination is a test conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to assess the eligibility of Filipinos who wish to work in government positions. It comes in two levels:

• Professional Level – For those seeking jobs requiring higher education or supervisory roles.

• Sub-Professional Level – For clerical or support roles.

To be eligible, you must:

• Be a Filipino citizen.

• Be at least 18 years old on the date of filing.

• Have good moral character.

• Have no criminal record, dishonesty, or immoral conduct cases.

• Not have taken the same level of CSE within the last 3 months.

Prepare the following:

• Fully accomplished CSC Form 100 (Download from the CSC website).

• Four (4) passport-size photos with name tag (taken within 3 months).

• Valid government-issued ID (e.g., UMID, Driver’s License, Passport, PhilSys).

• Examination Fee: ₱500
